Ho Ping coffee shop located at Penang Road / Kampung Malabar junction is famous for its varieties of hawker food. I used to drop by this place for the Hakka Beefball Noodles and Bak Moi beehoon. I was there lately and saw this signboard.
In my opinion, this rule is slightly imposing especially with the hard times the nation is facing.

hmmm..totally agree with you..with the situation where evrything is hike up in prices..
nothing worse than the Pg Road Cendol coffee shop, Joo Hooi. really.
This is not the first time I'm seeing this sign but the amount has increased another 10sen. If that is the case I rather call a glass of plain water rather than paying that amount. Moreover, some coffee shops are charging the same price for drinks, whether you ordered a big cup or a small cup.

what to do??? life is getting real difficult nowadays....
Yeah, ditto on J2KFM's point on those arrogant Joo Hooi owners. And before the recent price increase too!
Tau Sar Phneah - You will see more of this when you come back to Penang.
J2kfm - Do you see this happening in Ipoh too?
Criz Lai - You do have a point there...might as well order a glass of plain water.
New Kid On The Blog - its true that we can't do much...perhaps don't eat at the outlet so often lor.
550ml jar of faith - some of the hawkers of tourist food outlets pushes their prices way too high...
oh i went to a coffee shop in town with that notice too!! just can't remember where. but for the RM0.40 paid, they give a cup of plain water!!! never went back there though.
Duckie - Looks like there are other coffeeshops in town imposing this rule too...consumers on the losing end :(
Cannot boycott meh?
I think there are bount to have people boycotting them...not many are willing to pay for that.
