Do you know that there is a stall that sells delicious roast duck in Ayer Itam? Head over to "Restoran Chu Yoke Weng" at Bee San Coffee Shop in Ayer Itam/Rifle Range traffic light junction. This stall sells Pei Pah Arp. It is different from the normal roast duck because these ducks are slit open flat for roasting.

Before they serve the duck, it is slightly deep fried again. The skin is crispy and yet the meat remain tender and juicy. The thick sauce is rich in herbs and garlic but is slightly salty.

The duck portion comes in a serving of half or a whole duck. Half a duck cost RM17.00 and the whole duck RM34.00. Besides the Pei Pah Arp, they also sell other varities of roast meat and chicken.

Went over to Butterworth, Bagan Dalam to try out the teochew steam fish-head beehoon. The shop located just beside the wet market is actually a tim sum shop. Occupying two shoplots, it is really pack in the morning that they even have tables on the service road.

We went there late on a Sunday morning (in fact they were starting to clean up the premises) but still they were kind enough to take our orders. As for the tim sum, there were only two types left but we didn't really mind as our our aim was for the beehoon. Ordered a medium size plate.

The soup which has tomato, mushroom, ginger and chilli padi was definitely appetising. The fish was fresh. As for the beehoon (soak in the teochew soup), it was so tasty that we ordered another plate with a single serving.

We all made a promise to come again but the next time much much earlier. Super recommended if looking for something spicy and sour to savour! In a nutshell, go there a.s.a.p!

We had been patronizing Fettes Park Western Food at Fatty Loh Chicken Rice for years. They serve quite delicious western food at reasonable price. Recently it shifted from its old premises to two shop lots away. The size of the shop is slightly smaller and is decorated with old pots, bottles and olden bicycles. The lighting is a bit dim.

MZ had the Pork Gordon Blue and the Potato Salad whereas mine was the grilled Black Pepper Chicken.

My hubby's favourite is the Chicken Maryland.


Beside these there are the usual stuff one can find in other western food outlet like oxtail soup, grilled salmon, steak, lamp chop and also not forgetting the chilled mixed vegetable salad and potato salad. They maintain the portion size and quality as before they moved but alas, the only complain is the toilet. It is situated right smack in the center of the shop which is a bit odd, we think and not so pleasant to the eye. Hope they can move it somewhere not so obvious.
