ChokDeeThai is a Non-Halal restaurant in a two-storey shop house located in the heavy traffic Burma Road, Penang. It starts operating at this new premises since it shifted from its previous place in the neighbourhood of Island Glades. The interior of the restaurant has a very relaxing and pleasant environment.

The menu has a wide selection of authentic Thai cuisine. It was nice to hear from the owner that the level of spiciness of the food can be cooked according to each individual personal taste. We started with a plate of assorted green vegetables which was accompanied with appetite-whetting sambal belacan.

We chose one of their delicious soups ... the hot and sour clear seafood Tomyam soup. The soup has prawns, fish and squid together with mushrooms, tomato and chili. The fresh seafood enhances the taste of the soup.

Stir-fry chicken with basil leaves. The aroma of the basil leaves with the soy sauce is a tasty gravy to go with white rice.

This stall  is located on the ground floor of Sky Hotel on Chulia Street, Penang which has a number of  budget hotels and small cafes. You could easily spot  this blue-ish building with the stall 'WAI KEE' right in the front entrance. Here you will find delicious assorted roast meat.

A sumptuous lunch with my choice of soup, blanched vegetables, siew bak  and char siew.
